STUDIES
1947 – Studies at the Claude Bernard high school in Paris,  first gouaches

EXHIBITIONS

1949 – first exhibitions at Salon de Versailles
1949 – First participation in an artistic event; exhibits three canvases at the Salon de Versailles, one of them wins a prize
1955 – Obtains gets the title of teacher of drawing from the City of Paris
1957 – First participation at the Young Painter’s Salon
1958 – Two and a half year of military service during the trouble in Algeria. After his return, he has a one-man show ont the theme “The regourped villages of Kabylie”
1969 – First participation in the show “Painters as Witnesses of Their Times”, to which he will become a perennial contributor
1970 – Produces his firts lithographs for a new York dealer
1976 – Awarded the ” Médaille d’Or des Artistes Français”
1984-1989 – President of the “Souvenir de Corot” Salon in the Ile de France
1988 – Is named General Commissioner of the Salon d’Automne at the Grand Palais in Paris
1990-1995 – President of the Friends of the Salon d’Automne at the Grand Palais
1990 – Decorated Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur
1991 – Is named Official painter of the French Navy
2000 – Obtains the Grande Médaille de Vermeil of Arts, Sciences and Letters
2001 – Obtains the Grande Médaille de Vermeil of the City of Paris
2002 – Becomes President of the Salon “Les Rencontres d’Art Contemporain de Calvi”
2006 – Obtains the Grande Médaille d’Or of Arts, Sciences and Letters

Since 1957, Michel Jouenne has held about a hundred one-man shows around the world.
