Jacques Van den Abeele was born in 1960 in Belgium, and still lives there.
He graduated at the Oudenaarde Fine Arts Academy and received the Belgium Government Medal for Decorative Arts and Sculpture. He also graduated in Drawing (living models) at the Saint Lucas Academy in Gent.
By combining full and empty spaces, Jacques Van Den Abeele gives power and mystery to his themes, whether they are animals or human characters. His sculptures are casted according to the official bronze-casters charter in eight numbered copies and four numbered artist copies. However, since Jacques Van Den Abeele works directly on wax, each individual copy is original and different from the others.
Van Den Abeele won several awards and his sculptures have been purchased by museums, local councils and private collectors in Europe.
